On February 3, Oji International Language Institute held a Setsubun cultural event.
During the event, the school first provided students with an easy-to-understand explanation of the meaning and origins of Setsubun. It was a valuable opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of this traditional Japanese custom.
Afterward, second-year students dressed up as oni (demons) and made a surprise appearance in the classroom. First-year students followed what they had learned in class, energetically throwing beans while shouting, “Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!” (“Demons out! Fortune in!”), creating a lively and cheerful atmosphere.
Finally, all students enjoyed ehōmaki prepared by the school, allowing them to experience Japanese traditional culture in a fun and meaningful way.
Our academy will continue to actively incorporate cultural events that help students deepen their understanding of Japanese culture.
